Mothers Receive Award for Efforts in Juvenile Justice Reform


The Campaign for Youth Justice and National Juvenile Justice Network awarded Mother of Distinction Awards to Lois DeMott of Michigan, Sincilina Beckett and Giana Livingston of Connecticut; Families and Friends of Louisiana’s Incarcerated Children, and Tracy McClard of Missouri. This award is presented each Mother’s Day to mothers who have made an outstanding contribution to the juvenile justice field through working for reform in the juvenile justice system or changing the practice of trying, sentencing, or incarcerating youth in the adult criminal justice system.
